Since then, advancements in materials
science, vacuum technology, and manufacturing processes have enabled steady improvements in the performance and viability of VIG. While early adoption was limited, VIG is now poised to become a leading technology for highly insulating windows and facades. Vitro Glass has partnered with LandGlass and VIG Technologies to become the exclusive provider of their high-performance tempered vacuum insulating glass (VIG) products in North America. A VacuMax™ VIG unit consists of two lites of glass, ranging from 4mm to 6mm, separated by a non-leaded proprietary metal edge seal and a vacuum space.
While pioneering and advancing, we actively practice sustainable public welfare principles, continuously exploring and investing in social welfare endeavors. By taking on more social responsibility and commitment, we guide our long-term development. In this article, we’ll discuss all you need to know about this new window technology, what it promises, and how you can benefit from it.
The poorer the insulation performance of glass, the lower the temperature of the indoor glass surface. The surface temperature of vacuum insulated glass is only 2-5℃ lower than room temperature and much higher than other glass under the same conditions. Depending on the quality of the butyl rubber sealant used in the sealing process, the insulating glass may have water vapor left in the chamber that cannot be removed and cause a negative effect in actual use.
By providing a thermally efficient upgrade that is sympathetic to historic architecture, vacuum glazing enables these landmark buildings to have modern energy efficiency while retaining their architectural heritage. This is especially important for historic sites where strict preservation standards may apply. To prevent the glass panes from bending and touching each other at certain points, micro-spacers (also called supportive pillars) were introduced into the design of vacuum double glazing. The seals around the edges of the glass panes and spacer bars do not let the gas escape, but over 3-10 years, regular gas-filled double glazing loses most of its insulation performance due to gas leaks. The adoption of vacuum insulated glass in commercial development projects is further driven by strict building requirements and regulations meant to promote energy efficiency.
As a result, homeowners get improved energy efficiency as well as peace of mind knowing they reduced their carbon footprint. Boasts exceptional thermal efficienciesIt is aptly named insulated glass for a very good reason! In fact, its thermal efficiencies are 8 times more efficient than single glazing and 5% more efficient than vacuum glazing a 36mm triple-glazed unit.
The fundamental physics of how a vacuum function dictates the design of vacuum-glazed units. The major driver for the Vacuum Insulated Glass market is intensifying demand for soundproof research laboratory and rise in demand for green buildings. The restraints of the Vacuum Insulated Glass market is high production costs. Short-term forecasting is typically done with econometric models, while long-term forecasting is done with technological market models.
