CHARLOTTE & SCOTT: REAL BRIDE STORY
Our date for the wedding was around the 18th May 2021, but our original date was 29th December 2020 – however of course we found inside us the middle of a pandemic! We got married at Gaynes Park with special because of Aimee & Donna. We had our reception at Channels Barn, Brasserie, where we hired out their retreat, rooms in hotels & lodges for the guests. We can't thank them enough they at Channels were amazing!
Scott and I met through my brother-in-law because they play cricket together and I met Scott inside my sisters and brother-in-law's wedding in 2009, but we didn't begin to see one another until May 2015 and things just blossomed after that. Scott and I brought our first home together in 2019 and he took me to New York right before Christmas as a present. He proposed in my experience at Bethesda Fountain on 16th December just like it began to snow. He had asked my father's permission some months before - my father was within the moon. It came as pretty amazing for everyone on Christmas Eve whenever we saw family, we'd kept it a secret for now. We just didn't think a text was appropriate. Scott was able to capture everything on film, he explained we were using a photo, so it's really lovely to possess that moment on film.
Having worked in events the majority of my life I was interested in so many ideas for my very own wedding. Scott type of let me move forward on this, but all of the ideas we experienced together also looked lovely on our special day, even though our day wasn't quite what we'd planned because of Covid. As you can imagine it had been very stressful, we'd moved our date twice already because of lockdown and restrictions.
As for that wedding dress, I had no clue in regards to what I wanted to put on. I went right into a few shops coupled with been looking online. I felt overwhelmed so when I finally started fitting dresses, I believed that princess ball gown wedding dress would be what I want, but it turned out that style wasn't for me. I visited around 4 dress shops ultimately, which have been all great at helping me. I think I tried on around 30 dresses maybe more.
I find the wedding dresses by FeelTimes. The detailing is exquisite within the ivory and champagne color. The lace detailing was beautiful, the long train, the mix of fabrics too, it had been just perfect. It was everything I wanted and much more, I felt unreal inside it.
The day went smoothly as I wasn't even aware but Scott forgot the rings! It may be cliche but my best moment was when I walked on the aisle and it began to rain it's best of luck when tying the knot, at the moment it stopped, directly on cue, Scott turned round to determine me also it was probably the most precious moment.
The small intimate wedding seemed to be better than expected. I think you usually dream of your day being full of everyone you like being there. We had been again and again things about postponing to some later date, therefore, we could have more and more people but will a lot of uncertainty we simply really wanted to get it done. We'd made our VIP list and we stuck to that particular.
I want to thank our florist Longacres Garden Centre in Chelmsford. The lovely ladies that work within the florist there are perfect - Georgia & Leah couldn't have done more for all of us. They have been very supportive and thus easy to possess work on our wedding.
Lastly, my final tip for brides is always to enjoy every minute because honestly time just flies by. Don't sweat the little stuff, it's the main one day in your life that you just simply enjoy, things might fail but be done with it. You're marrying your best friend & that's all that matters.
