An Premium Gold Package costs 150 FIFA Points and comes with 12 gold-rated gamers or consumables that are able to be used in-game or sold via exchange markets.

Regarding the company's policies, EA told Eurogamer that FUT's Lootboxes "are a part the game of FIFA that players enjoy," and that "giving players the choice to spend whenever they'd like is fair." It has no plans to change its strategy regarding "surprise mechanics" unless there are laws which force it to. 

The situation isn't any better however, it's worth mentioning that in light of those laws you can now set weekly limits on FIFA points spent and pack opening within Ultimate Team, and see the likelihood of getting the highest-rated player prior to opening the pack. FIFA 23 also features Time-limited Preview Packs, where you can look at what's in a pack prior to you buy it. However, it currently only applies to one pack of cards that refresh each day.

FIFA 23 is a bombastic swan song for the series (under the current title, at least) with a definite accent on the stage. FUT Moments action replays, FUT Moments, and multiplayer updates that are viral-friendly such as Power Shots make it a more thoughtful, memorable game of simulated soccer with thoughtful defense, as well as plenty of drama and goals. However, EA's Spartan approach to games that don't earn money makes sure FIFA 23 is an all-too-familiar beast to previous years, and Ultimate Team's focus on microtransactions is taking part of the fun of the game.
