Poker's history is thought to have started around ten centuries ago. Poker is similar to other card games. It involves basic principles of ranked cards and the use of "bluffing strategies" to deceive your opponents.

It was believed that the Chinese invented the game before 969 A.D. According to reports, it was created by Emperor Mu-tsung playing "domino" cards with his wife on a new year's eve.

The Egyptians used a version of their playing cards in the 12th and the 13th centuries. Different mechanics were used to create different games similar to those used by the Chinese to play domino cards. This may have led to the creation of poker today.

Persia's "Ganjifa", or "Treasure Cards", were used in 16th century for various betting games. Ganjifa cards were 96 intricate cards. These cards were made from thin slices of ivory and precious wood. The Persians tehn also played "As Nas", a game that involved 25 cards. Other variations include Omaha, Manila, Stud Poker, Stud Poker, Draw Poker, Razz, which are all popular but are not as exciting and thrilling as No Limit Texas Hold'em.
