An Intimate and Watercolour Inspired Barn Wedding
Secondary school English teacher Charlotte married Quantity Surveyor Adam around the 5 August, inside a heartfelt and intimate day full of soft summer flowers and accents of gold, taking major inspiration from one of Charlotte's favorite books, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. It's wonderful that you can share Charlotte and Adam's highlights film along with you, thanks to the videographer.
The couple finds the lovely rustic setting in Brecon, Mid-Wales for or her day, deciding at the outset that the barn wedding would suit the informal feel of the day perfectly.
"I found dress shopping enjoyable, but difficult; there have been so many I liked and I had way too much time to decorate shop! In the end, Fern had everything I wanted: it had been light to put on, lacy, a champagne/coffee color, a soft fishtail, buttons, and also the back of it had been just lace, which I loved. I felt relaxed and comfy in it which was probably the most important thing for me."
Groom Adam wore a handsome blue tweed suit having a contrasting lime green lining, which was purchased in The couple found the suit because it fitted the relaxed style these were aiming for, along with striking foliage print ties from, which they were able to pick up within the sales. The Groomsmen wore matching blue suits and leaf print ties using their shoes.
The bridesmaids wore the sparkly inside a variety of colors of their choosing; soft dove grey, blush pink and mint green, along with using their shoes and fragrant eucalyptus crowns. Here
"Our four beautiful flower girls wore white flower girl dresses."
"For both people, it had been the moments just following the ceremony. Adam says for him, it had been when they announced he could kiss his wife and, for me, it had been walking on the aisle to some cheery song, having flower petals thrown at me, seeing our family and friends smiling and thus happy for all of us, and, finally, holding the hand of my hubby."
As the venue tables were laid for afternoon tea, Mad Hatter style, that's just what everyone enjoyed, executed to perfection by This three-course afternoon tea included savory bites and sweet pies, with burgers and chips keeping everybody fuelled with the evening entertainment.
The band under consideration was Swansea based, using their guitarist having known groom Adam from childhood.
"We'd decided a couple of weeks before the marriage that we didn't desire a traditional first dance song on our own and wanted all of our wedding ceremony to join us for the first dance. We chose The Killers’ song 'Bones' because it brings back memories for Adam of driving back from Bath to Swansea, whilst I was at university."
"It's also upbeat so a great song to bop to. We’d asked this guitar rock band if they could learn it a couple of days prior and I only discovered after our afternoon tea around the day that they learned it and could be playing it. Our first dance was among those moments in the day that's imprinted I believe – I remember searching to see everyone dancing and smiling."
Words of Wedded Wisdom
"As for that day itself, we now have no regrets whatsoever; everything was precisely what we wanted, and we wouldn't have deleted almost anything to save a little bit of money. I'd do everything over again in the same way."
