10 Biggest Indian Drama Serial Mistakes You Can Easily Avoid
Indian dramas have been the lifeblood of millions of fans. These shows have given us goosebumps and have made us laugh until our tummies hurt. They have also taught us lessons about life and love.
But have you ever wondered why these dramas are so ridiculous? From being regressive to just plain stupid, there are tons of things that go wrong with Indian TV serials.
1. The Plot Is Too Short
Unlike Indian dramas that go on forever, Pakistani shows run for a maximum of 30 episodes. This gives writers enough time to develop a solid plot and characters. This enables them to avoid lame antagonists, illogical stuff, and endless time leaps that drive viewers crazy.
Another fantastic example is a recent drama called Phaans. The drama revolves around the dark side of relationships and focuses on mental and physical abuse. This is a very important topic that needs to be highlighted in our country.
The drama stars Ramsha Khan and Affan Waheed in the lead roles. It’s a must-watch drama and you can watch it on ARY Digital. The show is on-air every Thursday at 8:00 PM. To catch the latest episode, click here. This is a drama that will keep you entertained throughout the week!
2. The Plot Is Too Long
Despite the fact that Indian dramas are famous around the world, they aren’t always the best. These serials usually have annoying voices, non-existent plots and loads of sound effects that will make your head spin. Plus, they drag on for years and years.
Humsafar enthralled a nation and launched Fawad Khan into superstardom. The show was more than a romance; it was a map of the human heart and was filled with love, jealousy and despair.
Khaas is another fantastic drama that recently aired on Hum TV. It covers a unique topic of disputed marital relations and is full of twists and turns. The drama also features a great cast with some fabulous performances. It is available on YouTube. Make sure to watch it! You won’t regret it. Also, check out Dunk on ARY Digital! It’s a must-watch.
3. The Plot Is Too Complex
Another big mistake that Indian dramas often make is over-complicating the plot. This creates a lot of confusion and makes it hard for viewers to follow. For example, many dramas use too much jargon to describe certain situations or characters.
One example is a show called Uttaran that started off with a very unique storyline. It focused on the life of two cousin sisters, one who was very poor and appreciated the little things in life while the other was a rich girl who wore designer clothes and lived like royalty.
However, the plot soon took a turn and turned into a typical daily soap with fights and tragedies. This caused the show to lose its charm and appeal. Nevertheless, some of the best dramas include Dunk, starring Nauman Ijaz and Sana Javed. It’s currently airing on ARY Digital and is a must-watch!
4. The Plot Is Too Stupid
If you’ve watched any Indian soaps, then you’ve seen plenty of ridiculous situations. From women strangling themselves with curtains to a woman accidentally getting married to a gorilla (yes, really), there are many examples of how stupid Indian dramas can be.
These illogical scenes can make it hard to enjoy the show. They also lack the message that most soaps are trying to convey. Whether it’s body-shaming, baseless rumors, hatred, or patriarchal ideologies, the jokes and situations are just too lame.
Another problem is that the characters in the shows don’t seem to learn from their mistakes. They keep making the same mistakes over and over again and it’s frustrating to watch. This is why it’s so important to introduce new faces in your dramas. If you want to see a great example of this, check out Khaas on Hum TV.
5. The Plot Is Too Regressive
One of the biggest mistakes Indian TV serials make is promoting patriarchy. This is especially true of Indian dramas that feature a rich family where the women are treated as property and their lives revolve around cooking, cleaning, and taking care of children.
Another issue with these shows is that they tend to focus on issues like body shaming, baseless rumors, hatred, and disrespect. This is not good for young girls who watch these shows.
Finally, the plots of many Indian dramas are too regressive. For example, they often show women as being either a vamp or a bechari, and they don’t discuss the importance of women’s education or work from home. This is not good for our society. We need more positive messages from our TV serials. We also need more realistic stories that show women as strong and independent.
6. The Plot Is Too Stupid
There are a lot of stupid things about Indian drama serials, but one of the biggest is how unrealistic the plot is. For example, in most dramas, the hero and heroine hate each other, but somehow they end up falling for each other at the end. Also, there are always a ton of weddings and functions in the dramas.
Finally, there are some really stupid jokes in the dramas. These jokes usually revolve around body-shaming, baseless rumours, hatred, and disrespect.
However, there are some dramas that have good plots. For example, Raqs e Bismil is a good drama that has an interesting story. It stars Sarah Khan, Zara Sheikh, Mehmood Aslam, Furqan, and Momin Saqib. It airs on Hum TV.
7. The Plot Is Too Stupid
In many Indian dramas, the storyline doesn’t make much sense. For example, it’s common for the hero and heroine to hate each other but end up together at the end of the show. Also, there are too many lame jokes about body shaming, baseless rumors, hatred, and mental health issues.
Moreover, the dramas often have unrealistic scenes like a woman trying to strangle herself with a curtain. This is just one of the many stupid things about Indian TV serials.
Fortunately, some dramas have unique plots that capture the attention of viewers. Safar Tamam Hua, for instance, is a recent blockbuster that portrays family relationships in a different light. The drama stars Junaid Khan, Ayeza Khan, Muneeb Butt, and more. It is currently on-air on ARY Digital. Click here to watch it.
8. The Plot Is Too Stupid
Among many things, the plot in any drama serial can make or break it for you. It has to be interesting and unique or it should at least touch upon a topic that isn’t addressed very often on the small screen.
Thankfully, Pakistani drama makers have created some fantastic dramas with an out-of-the-box and unique plot. Some of these include Do Bol, Banegi Apni Baat, Ishq Zah-e-Naseeb, Khaas and more.
Currently on-air on ARY Digital, Khaas is a great example of a drama with an amazing story. It portrays different aspects of relationships and also makes use of some brilliant actors like Hira Mani, Affan Waheed and Ramsha Khan. Moreover, it has some great dialogues and scenes that will leave you on the edge of your seat. It is a must-watch!
9. The Plot Is Too Stupid
If you watch Indian TV dramas, you've probably noticed that they often have incredibly stupid plots. For example, they may have a villain who just randomly seeks revenge because of some unimportant event. They may also have scenes that are completely nonsensical, such as a woman trying to strangle herself with a curtain.
Moreover, they have tons of weddings and functions that seem to go on forever. It's almost as if these characters don't have any real problems in life, so they make up their own issues.
But, if you're looking for a good Pakistani drama with a realistic storyline and a great cast, check out Raqs-e-Bismil. The show stars Sarah Khan, Zara Sheikh, Mehmood Aslam, Furqan, and Momin Saqib, among others. The drama is on-air every Friday at 8:00 PM on HUM TV. You can also stream it on YouTube.
10. The Plot Is Too Stupid
Sadly, Indian dramas have some of the most stupid plots in the world. For example, on a daily basis, you will find characters arguing over trivial things such as the colour of their cars. It is also not uncommon to see a family fighting over a fake property document. There are also countless scenes that make absolutely no sense.
One such example is the story of Kasam Tere Pyar Ki. In this show, the hero and heroine hate each other but end up getting married anyways. This shows how stupid the entire show is.
Another example is Sasural Simar Ka, which features non-sensical plotlines such as Simar using weapons Ghum Hai KisiKey Pyaar Meiin Written Update developed by Gods and the hero signing over his property papers to his mother-in-law. This is a ridiculous show that aired for 8 years, yet it was still popular.
