People can join and play on different platforms. If the game supports cross-platform play, you and your friends can sit at other places but play the game together. This is one of the primary reasons why players want it so badly. Along with it, Modern Warfare and Rocket League are two games that support cross-platform play. As a result, all the fans have high expectations!! 

Below mentioned are some of the reasons why it isn't possible. 

• The first and foremost reason is the lack of a unified platform to provide players across platforms with the same experience. It will take a lot of effort, and not all developers are ready to take on this challenge. 
• Secondly, most gamers have already played these games on their respective consoles, such as Playstation, Xbox, or PC, and do not want other people to be able to join them. 

• Thirdly, developers cannot provide the same gameplay quality across platforms.
• The fourth reason is that there are technical problems in making cross-platform games that run on multiple platforms with high game quality and no glitches. 
• The last one is fear of cheating.

Unfortunately, it also reveals that Battlefront 2 may never have crossplay. The creators themselves stated this.
