WaasMedic Agent Exe, commonly known as WaasMedic, represents the Windows Update Medic service. WaasMedic is a pre-installed application on the Windows 10 operating system. Its main purpose is to make sure that the Windows update process goes quickly and without interruptions, allowing users to get the latest updates as soon as possible.

Fix 1: Turn off all antivirus software for the time being.

A misconfiguration or conflict with antivirus software installed on your computer is one of the causes of the WaasMedic.exe high CPU issue. Antivirus software continuously monitors your computer and attempts to prevent any suspicious activity.

As one of the antivirus software, Avast has been accused of producing a high number of false positives and disrupting access to your profile.

Following the procedures in this guide, you can temporarily disable or delete your antivirus: Avast can be disabled in a variety of ways on both PC and Mac. Temporarily/Completely. Restart your computer after you've disabled it to see whether you can access your profile without any issues.

Fix 2: Clean up your hard drive

Almost all versions of Windows contain the Disk Cleanup tool. The Disk Cleanup function makes deleting unneeded files and freeing up disc space on your PC a breeze. As a result, Disk Cleanup is used in this procedure. The steps are as follows:

Step 1: To open the search, press the Windows + S keys at the same time. Then, in the search box, type Disk Cleanup and select the first option.

Step 2: Select the drive where Windows was installed and click OK to continue.

Step 3: Select Clean up system files and click OK to begin cleaning.

This will remove any incorrect registry entries from Windows, allowing you to check if the WaasMedic problem has been resolved.

Fix 3: Put a 35-day hold on Windows updates.

Suspending Windows update settings will fix the WaasMedic problem. It's also a rather straightforward assignment to perform.

Step 1: From the Windows Start menu, go to Settings > Update & Security.

Step 2: In the new window's right panel, scroll down until you see the Advanced options.

Step 3: You can disable Windows 10 updates for up to 35 days with this option. Please keep in mind that after this option expires, your computer will need to receive the most recent update before it may be paused again.

Fix 4: Turn off WaasMedic.

The final option for you is to turn off WaasMedic Agent . To do so, simply follow the steps below:

Step 1: Get Windows Update Blocker and unzip it.

Step 2: Open the Windows Update Blocker application. Then, from the drop-down menu, choose Menu.

Step 3: Select Windows Servic from the context menu.

Step 4: In the Services window, look for the Windows Update Medic Service. Then copy the service's name.

Step 5: Go back to where you extracted the Windows Update Blocker.

Step 6: Open the ini file in Notepad and look for dosvc=2,4 immediately beneath it. Paste the service name into the box after adding =3,4 to the end.

Step 7: To return to the Windows Update Blocker window, click the back arrow. To save your changes, click Apply.

Fix 5: Disconnect detachable drives

This is more of a workaround than a solution, as the title implies. For unknown reasons, the procedure appears to be failing to perform as intended and consuming a large amount of disc space. If that's the case, try detaching any portable drives (such as external hard drives or USB flash drives) for a while to see if it helps.

Fix 6: Temporarily disable WaasMedic.exe

Before you begin, make a backup of your registry settings. While we do not recommend disabling this vital system service, if none of the preceding solutions worked, you should temporarily disable WaasMedic.exe. It will end the processes connected with WaasMedic.exe and boost your computer's performance.

You can disable Windows Update Medic Service, but you'll get an Access Denied notice if you try to do so through Windows Services Manager.

You'll need to use the Registry Editor to disable it.

Final Thoughts

The instructions on how to fix the WaasMedic bug are now complete. If you wish to fix the problem but don't know how to try one of the above options at a time. One of these, I believe, can help you solve your problem.
