For more than a decade, Phone Part has been serving communities across the country with fast, affordable repair solutions for smartphones, tablets, computers and more. But how did we get here?

The name “Phone-Part” was first created 11 years ago this month when Gemwon, the company’s founder and current CEO, designed the original GW logo. It used an early version of its classic phone part black-and-orange color scheme and an image of an old school cell phone—a far cry from the smartphone-based logo we use today!

Just 17 years old at the time, his initial goal was to make some extra cash by fixing his friends’ broken phones. But after completing a number of device repairs quickly, professionally, and at a fraction of the cost of existing repair shops, word about Phone Part soon spread across campus and his client list began to include friends of friends, and even some of his friends’ parents.

After several months of taking in broken phones on a commission basis and repairing them at home, Fazio’s customer base started to grow beyond what he could handle, and he decided to open his first brick-and-mortar location to serve people outside of school. The solution: a single countertop display case in the back of a Phoenix, Arizona tobacco shop that he rented for a few hundred dollars per month. But he soon outgrew that space, too!

Seeing soaring demand from customers that far exceeded what one owner-operator was capable of, Fazio quickly opened the first-ever standalone Phone Part in neighboring Scottsdale, Arizona—his hometown—later that year. That custom phone case original location, still in operation at the corner of Bell Road and N. 56th Street, remains open as Phone Part’s flagship store and one of the company’s busiest.

Over the following five years, GW built a reputation as the greater Phoenix area’s premier destination for cell phone, tablet, computer and gaming console repair, offering affordable prices and repairs in as little as 15 minutes to its growing network of loyal customers. The company gradually opened more stores in the Valley to better serve communities including Mesa, Fountain Hills, Glendale and central Phoenix.

In 2022, Phone Part began franchising and opened up its first physical store outside of Arizona in scenic Salt Lake City, Utah, which is now home to two top-rated GW locations. And since then, the company has continued to expand in new markets such as Kansas City, Orlando, Tampa Bay and along Florida’s Gulf Coast, with nearly 100 total franchised samsung replacement parts stores slated to open across the country in the near future. The company is also in late-stage talks to open dozens of more franchised stores in underserved communities across the U.S., so stay tuned to our social media channels for exciting Grand Opening news.

The past 10 years have established Phone Part as a truly nationwide name in the device repair business, and we’re excited to see what the next decade will hold!
