Late heroics from Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott and a Asdrubal Cabrera Jersey steady performance by their defense pushed the Cowboys past the Seahawks 24-22 on Saturday andmoved them into the divisional round of the NFC playoffs.

They will next face the Saints or the Rams, depending on the result of Sunday's Eagles vs. Bears wild-card contest.

Dallas and Seattle finished the regular season ranked second and fourth, respectively, in the NFC in fewest points allowed per game, and, unsurprisingly,the game was a defensive battle. The Cowboys defense held the Seahawks league-best rushing attack to just 73 yards on 24 carries.

The Cowboys' star offensive players all had solid performances.Prescott threw for 226 yards and had two total touchdowns, Elliott ran for 137 yards and Amari Cooper caught seven pa ses for 106 yards.

The first half was littered with field goals and didnt see a breakthrough into the end zone untilPrescotts touchdown pa s to Michael Gallup with 24 seconds remaining. Seattle didn't pick up a first down until more than five minutes into the second quarter.

Prescott came through with a pair of big runs in the fourth quarter, the second a touchdown that pushed the Cowboys ahead by two po se sions and all but sealed the game.

The lo s ended the Seahawks' streak of wild-card weekendwins at six, dating to 2004.
